chronic depressive - depnill

Hi Doc, my wife was diognosed with depression approx 3 years ago & untill now we have used a trial & error method of trying to find the drug that suits her most. Her doctor feels that they have finally found the right one in Depnill 150mg, which she takes twice a day. One in the morning & another no later than 12 noon. The problem is that she cannot sleep if she takes the second one, but cannot cope on just one. This drug has minimal other side effects & we feel that it is perfect for her. Have you perhaps had any encounters with this drug or even suggest a natural/homeopathic sleep assistant?

All antidepressants currently on the market are around equally effective over-all, but, as you have discovered, because we each differ subtly in our internal chemistry, some suit us better than others. As it appears to suit her, wise to remain on it. I'm not convinced that any natural or homeopathic sleep agent actualyl works ( though of course there's always the placebo effect, such that almost anything may work if you really believe it will ). Better to try sleep hygiene methods discussed in the archives of this forum, elsewhere in H24, and also you can do a google search for other descriptions --- aspects of how one should best try to sleep naturally. Warm milky drinks often help, too
