check up

I'm 57, had a hysterectomy 14 years ago. I still have my ovaries.
I think I am on my last legs with the menopause which I treated naturally. It was a very easy transition but now I'm told by friends that I should see the gynae as I could still get cancer and need hrt which I'm not happy about. I'm active so not worried about my bone density although I do suffer from arthritus which I think comes from too much sport as its in the relevant joints. I have never seen a gynae since my 6 week\check up after the op. To be honest I have not had an internal exam since then. Whats your advice? Many thanks

You should continue to see a gynaecologist every two years or so. HRT is an option if you have symptoms, but its not a necessity.

Best wishes
