Cervical Stitch

Hi,

I am currently 9 / 10 weeks pregnant and am having MacDonalds stitch put in on Monday.

I miscarried twice last year, both at 5 months. Therefore i have an incompetant cervix.

What is the honest success rate of this stitch and what are the normal complications that i can expect.

Is a Shirodkar better than a MacDonalds stitch??

many thanks

Astrid & JellyBaby.

Success rates are good if cases are selected properly. Shirodkar is a higher stich and technically more difficult. have the one that your gynae is comfortable with.
