Dear Pajero
Your dilemma is just as difficult to treat as weight loss in individuals who are overweight. For basic information do a Search on the Health24 Website with 'To gain weight' and read the articles. I have just heard that Fresenius Kabi have a possible supplement that can assist with this problem. Phone (011) 203-2000 and ask to speak to the Product Manager for Nutritional Supplements. As I am having a meeting with their representative next week, I shall try and let you know what the product is called.
Good luck

errr dude its pretty simple to gain weight really, firstly there are two golden rules

rule no 1) you have to eat 6 meals a day, containing at LEAST 1g of protein per kg of body weight (prefferbly 2g of protein per kg body weight), aswell as plenty of carbs, and a little fat...

rule no 2) you need to gym 3 times a week only, working different muscle groups on each day, more is less, and your muscles ONLY GROW while resting, also you need to lift HEAVY weights and do about 4 sets with LOW reps ie 4-10 reps...

i think your problem is like most people desperate to gain weight, you dont eat nearly enough, and you dont let your muscles rest long enough...

also water is ESSENTIAL, you body is 67% water, you need to drink at least 2 litres a day

you also need adequate minreal and vitamin supplements, a good multivitamin/minreal will do you just fine, maybe with additional vitamin C, E. Im still firguring out myself what other minerals and vitamins are very important when bulking up.

Next i suggest you try creatine monohydrate, dont do it for longer than 6 months though but its really great for getting into hectic gym, it increases ATP in your muscles, allowing you to lift heavier weights, and recover faster, vitamin C also helps with recovery..

Breakfast and your post workout meals are the most important meals, you should eat extra protein and carbs there.

Eat a bowl of icecream everyday, it increases insulin levels, which reduces protein breakdown.

Your whole goal here is to workout hard, you must be sore the next day, sore is good.... if you dont understand how muscle is built, basically when you workout you damage your muscles, then they repair themselves using protein, and of course when they repair they make your muscles bigger and stronger each time, thats why its essential you feed your body carbs and protein every 2-3 hours.

Also ive heard taking a slow digesting protein before you go to bed helps immensely, remember your going the whole night without protein, so drink some milk before you go sleep, and some carbs.

Also this is just the bulking phase, when you finally reach your goal weight you'll want to cut out any excess fat and lower your body fat levels to a decent percentage.. but you can cross that bridge when you get there!

good luck :)
