Can exercise be bad for children?

I want to take up running, but with two children, age 5 and 10, it is difficult to find the time to go running, unless I can take them with me. I have been told that running can be bad for their bone growth - is this true, and how much is too much?

Hi Vanessa

I personally wouldn't recommend it. Exercise is great for kids - but running in small spurts - not sustained running as you would be doing. I would try to organise someone to look after them even if just to give you half an hour on the road.

Hope you can organise this.
