Can an HIV + women have natural birth

Hi just found out am HIV + and have always wanted to have natural birth but am worried that my status will force not to have a natural birth but to be operated on. is that true?

It is your decision. There is a lower rate of transmission of HIV to the baby with a caesarean but, if you are taking antiretrovirals, this will decrease the rate as well.

There is a higher risk associated with natural bith that your baby will get the virusso i think that c section would be best to lessen mother to child infection
