Calcification of the eye

My fairly healthy 80 yr old father recently was told by an optician that he had calcification of the eyes. There is supposedly no treatment available & this eventually leads to blindness.
Please could you give me more background & info on the calcificatrion. Are there definitelty no treatment options?

Thanks

Eye spy, if you can let me know where in the eye (retina, cornea or lens) the calcification is, I might be able to help. Please post your reply as a new question or I won’t get it. Good luck.
