My husband burst his eardrum when he went diving a few years back. he had a sinus operation and through this they discovered that he is going deaf in the ear. now he needs a hearing aid. does anyone know of hearing aids that arn'  t visible since he is very self concious. then will he be able to swim with the hearing loss that is acuring?

Dear V
There are hearing aids that fit inside the earcanal and is very discreet. Look in the yellow pages for an speechtherapist near you - she may be able to test his level of hearing loss and also which products would work best for him. He will be able to swim - (without the hearing aid of course) - but if he still has a hole in the eardrum may need to use a plug in the ear - discuss this with his ENT surgeon.
