Brushing your tongue

When i brush my teeth i make sure that i brush my tongue too. I usually brush quite hard to get rid of plaque. Can this cause harm to my taste buds?

Thanks Doc.

Dear Tipsy
No - it will be sore/swollen or bleeding if you are too rough - but you don't have to brush so hard - you can actually damage the enamel of your teeth. Rather get yourself one of these electrical toothbrushes - they clean very well with only light pressure.
