blood types-help

hi im neg B positive. what does taht mean? and if your Rh is negative it can be dangerous for the baby, so is mine ok?

You're negative B positive? Doesn't make sense. You're either negative or positive. (The A,B,C doesn't matter in this case) Firstly it's only an issue if you're husband is positive while you're negative. Even then, it's usually not a concern in a first time pregnancy. Once you've bled (like during labour) your blood might develop antibodies against the other blood type. (That's IF your baby has a different blood type to you) Since bleeding usually only happens during labour, the first pregnancy should be fine. But for a second one you'll get anti-d injections that stop your body from developing antibodies. If you've bled during the pregnancy (like spotting or a threatening miscarriage) they should also give you an anti-d injection. But ONLY if your bloodgroup is negative. Mention it to your gynae - he'll explain and know when/if you need the anti-d injection.
