Is bipolar disorder something you can get from your parents trough genetics?

I've actually discussed this in the forum rather recently, if you'll check the archives/ You don't inherit it directly, like colour of eyes, but you can inherit a degree of vulnerability to later developing depression or bipolar disorder, a higher degree of vulnerability if BOTH parents have the disorder --- but it's never inevitable. The condition is quite common, even among those of us with no family history of it, but one's risk can be greater if there is.

yip, well there is a lot of research on this and indications point in that direction.

the lucky ones get it from their parents, something your parents give you that you can never loose, like an everlasting present ...grin
