Binge-eating self help

i' ve had this problem of binge-eating on and off for many years. it used to be not so bad - once a week at the worst. now it' s more often than not. almost every day of the week. i have to find some way of getting around this, and i' m not comfortable with going to somebody for help. do you have any advice that i can follow on my own? i do a lot of exercise - every day for at least two hours - and eat reasonably healthily otherwise.

With the scale opf binge-eating you describe, self-help is not a good idea, and there is really no good eason for you to insist on not seeing someone with proper expertise for assessment and help. They will help you to feel comfortable, and will be able to assess things more broadly ( don't rely on self-diagnosis, there may be more needing to be dealt with that you realize ) and you deserve expert and personalized advice. And recognize that when binge-eating is accompanied by "a lot of exercise" this may be a significant Eating Disorder, either already, or heading that way. Always easier to treat sucessfull when tyreated early rather than late.
