The general rule regarding weighing is that anyone who is trying to lose weight should try to weight themselves once a week at the same time, such as Monday mornings on rising. If your weight increases one week out of 4 because of menstruation, then you know that this is due to water retention and that your weight will drop again after your period. I am personally in favour of the use of plain yoghurt for everyone, but most people like the sweet taste of sweetened or flavoured yoghurts. In the case of diabetics it may be best to use fat-free and artificially sweetened yoghurts if you don't like plain yoghurt.
