Ja makes sense. Maybe especially in some white communities, many people take their gym exercise deadly seriously and rather grimly. Look around -- are they being warm and friendly and greeting each other ? Or are they uniformly dour and absorbed ? If so, then it's probably not about you, but about them ; and their loss, more than yours But remain your own pleasant self, and some will notice and appreciate it

I have to agree with you. I am a white female and goes to gym 5 days a week, but jisliak the people at the gym is plain STUCK-UP, dont let it bother you, seems like that is just the way people are in a gym,,, maybe they feel more macho when acting all stuck up. Glad to hear that it' s not just the females that' s stuck up but the males as well. So dont stress its not because your Indian, ... Go and enjoy the gym.

Keep smiling and greeting - just dont want to shake hands when theyre lifting and concentrating. BB is serious stuff - you have to get agressive to lift loads. But keep smiling and greeting - even the hard-asses will start responding.
