Dear Werner
I surmise that you are referring to diets that only make use of wholegrains, legumes, fruits and vegetables? Although such diets are rich in some protective nutrients, they can cause deficiencies in the following nutrients if used for longer periods: protein, iron, calcium, vit B12, and omega-3 fatty acids. It is usually best to eat a mixed, balanced diet or to take supplements if you use a Macrobiotic diet for long periods.
Best regards
