BEANS - ARE THEY COOKED PROPERLY ?

HI DOC--
DRY BEANS -- IF THESE HAVE BEEN COOKED --
BUT ARE STILL TOUGH OR CRUNCHY ??

DOES THIS MEAN
-- THEY ARE NOT COOKED PROPERLY ??
OR NOT SOAKED ENOUGH OVERNIGHT ??

BEANS ARE NORMALLY SMOOTH TO EAT - AND NOT CRUNCHY

Dear Piet
Generally if you soak the beans in boiling water overnight, discard the soaking water, cover them again with water and boil them till soft, they should be soft and smooth. Both processes contribute to softening, so make sure that you do soak them for at least 12 hours overnight and cook them till you find they are soft when testing with a fork or chewing them.
Enjoy
