Our expert says:
Sounds like Asperger's Syndrome ? ( unfortunate name, confusingly sounding like Asparagus ), but named after one of the people who first identified and described it. It's a form of childhood-onset disorder similar in some ways to autism and to schizophrenia, and if you do a goodle search on Asperger's, you should find much material about it. If someone has suggested it might apply to a member of your family, ask them to explain what they mean about it ; a child psychiatrist would be the best person to assess the individual and advise.
