Dear Fun-Guy
Mushrooms on their own are very low in energy: 25 cal or 106 kJ per 100g, but as soon as you start frying them in butter (136 cal or 573 kJ/100g) or oil (157 cal or 661 kJ/100g), then the energy content increases considerably. Because of their high water content (92%), mushrooms on their own have a very low nutritive content, just containing traces of B vitamins and some potassium.
