When someone is classified or diagnosed with anxiety, what exactly does it mean. How does that someone act. Are they edgy and impatient? I dont understand. How should one act around someone suffering from this disorder. Is is a disorder or mental illness. Do the levels of seratonum have anything to do with anxiety?

Dear Jasmine,
Check back through the search function on the home page of Health24, and you should find sectons describing Anxiety, its symptoms and treatment, fully. As with anyone who is unwell in anyway, it's nice if you'd avoid ading to their stress, and providing a sympathetic ear if and when they'd want to talk about tuings.
There's not really a useful distinction to be made between a mental disorder and a mental illness, in most circumstances. Serotonin is one of many chemicals which, in tiny but highly significant quantities , are involved in the workings of the brain and nerve cells in our nervous system, and a disruption of any of them can cause disorders, including depression and anxiety.

The information provided does not constitute a diagnosis of your condition.
