Always nauseas and dizzy

Hello Dr.Bets

My mom, 65, has always suffered with high BP. Has had 3 strokes before. She does not lead a very stressful or active lifestyle BUT she is always stressed. Recently she has been complaining of nausea and dizziness every morning. Took her to a specialist for colonoscopyand he confirmed she has a bit a reflux and inflammed hernia. Gave medication but nothing to really worry about. About a week ago, she fainted and has complained the spells of nausea and dizziness has worsened and is now for the entire day. Please can you can advise or recommend what to do. We visit her GPs at least once a week. (SHE HAS 3).They all confirm it's stress related.

Please help. We are at our wits end.

Dear Waheeda
Firstly it is never a good idea to have more than one doctor - they may prescribe medication that clash with each other. She must choose just one and stay with him/her. Nauzea and dizziness is usually caused by vertigo which can be due to middle ear inflammation or infection. Stugeron may help for this. Please let one doctor review all the medication that she is currently taking to ensure that her medication is not the cause of this.
