Age?

Hi doc
Would you say 38 is too old to have a baby? i have 2 children aged 14 and 12. My husband is 45. Are there any checks that can be done before or during pregnancy? Thank you!

Dear J

At this stage your age is still reasonably satisfactory for fertility treatment but there is certainly a steady decline in infertility rates from age 35 onwards. Hence the sooner you start some form of treatment the better.
