Addisons Disease

I was recently diagnosed with Addisons disease, I just need more info on managing the disease, I take 0.1mg Florinef and 10mg Covocort. I also take warfarin for thrombosis. I want to lose weight as I am 15kg over weight. Please suggest some good weight loss programmes. suggestions etc.

There is not much you can do except to take your medication regularly. When your body is under stress, like when you are sick or have an operation and then you may need more cortisone and you should see your doctor early, even with common diseases like a heavy cold or flu. You need to wear a Medic alert bracelet. If you have diarrhoea or vomiting get medical treatment as early as possible as you can dehydrate easily.
Follow a healthy weight loss programme like Weigh less or look on the health 24 website under diet. Do not use any diet pills or fad diets - this can be very dangerous for you
