Acne at 22

Hi Doc,

I am 22 years of age and for the past 10 months I’ve been getting breakouts on my face. I'd like to point out that throughout my teenage years I've never had any acne problems.

Could this be hormonal?
Is there a product out there I can use to clear up my skin?

Your help would be much appreciated.

Dear anon
If one develops acne when you are older, there could be an underlying hormonal problem. It may be best to go to a dermatologist to identify the cause of the problem and treat more specifically. It is also more difficult to manage than teenage acne.
