Primary hypertension usually starts in patients aged 45-55 years. Outside these age groups one has to investigate for a secondary cause. But, nowadays, with our metabolic syndrome/obesity challenges, hypertension due to lifestyle factors is becoming more common in younger patients. Also, in difficult to control hypertension, a secondary cause should be considered.
