Neck pain

Good morning Dr I have had quite severe neck pain since last year. Went for 6 physio sessions and 2 chiro sessions however nothing has worked as yet. My Dr has obviously given me medication as well which has also not given any relief. Her recommendation is for me to go see a neurosurgeon. However I do feel the need to ask is there no other options than just jumping on the specialist train again. Are there no blood tests that can be done first to check for osteoporosis, arthritis or bone density test? My first x ray did show only a spasm. Initially I only had the pain in my neck but after physio it felt like certain bones in my back are sore. What if it is just spasms and I waste all that money on a neurosurgeon who would then in anyway not be able to do anything for me. Just looking for alternatives here. Thanks in advance
