Hi Rache,  Blood pressure medication can not inhibit weight loss You need to see your doctor to diagnose you as insulin resistant to advice medical treatment accordingly. Insulin resistant or not- to lose weight you need to cut your calories for your body to start burning your fat cells for energy This involves not only what you eat, but also how much when and why you eat. The best will be to contact a dietitian that can calculate the calories you need as this depends on your age gender and height She can translate this in food and meals She can take your  lifestyle culture food preferences and budget in consideration that will make the plan easy and practical to follow This will facilitate adherence and success Contact for a dietitian in your area
