Insect bite

I was bitten three days ago and the itching worsened from last night. I was bitten by a fly and it is swollen and itching. I used advantan is this ok?

Most insect bite skin reactions are a localised hypersensitivity reaction and will settle with a topical steroid cream such as in Advantan. If the bite gets more swollen, skin reddening spreads or starts to ooze pus, then it may have become infected and need antibiotic treatment.
