I have been diagnosed recently with high BP.

Apparently, my BP does not drop at night. I am 45y old, exercise daily and eat healthy, mostly plant based diet. Normal work stress, not married, no kids. I am not comfortable with just being put on medicine, I belief in treating the cause not the symptom. As I am already doing most things right (eating, exercise) - what can cause for BP not to drop at night (I had 24h BP monitor to gather stats) and what can I do about it. Is there more natural "medicine" (herbs/spices) that I can try?

Hypertension. Please do all the lifestyle changes, yes, but, the pliability of the arteries decreases with age and that is why you do need medicine. Trusted medicine which can prevent remodelling of the heart etc and prevents long term damage. Please do not experiment with herbs and walk around with uncontrolled hypertension. It is dangerous.
