Female German Shepherd x Chow frequently waking up during the night

Our 10 year old german Shepherd x chow sleeps inside with us. She is kept warm in her bed with her blankets. Lately she has started waking up frequently during the night, this can be up to 3 or 5 times a night. There is always water available for her, and we always let her out so she can do her business before we go to bed. When she wakes up during the night, she walks around and then lies back down, she also licks her lips constantly like she is thirsty. We try to let her out to go and pee but she doesn't want to go and we direct her to the water bowl to drink water but she never seems to want to drink. She doesn't seem to be in any apparent pain that we can see, she eats well and drinks water throughout the day as normal. Could this be a psychological issue or is there an underlying condition we should check out at our vet? Many Thanks
