Dog not eager to eat

I have a 8.5 month dachshund, he his healthy and happy and energetic and has been for all his shots. We seem to have a problem at feeding time, he gets fed twice a day but when I put his food down he looks meek and uninterested. I have to lure him back to his bowl and give him some food in my hand. Once he tastes a few pieces he realises he is hungry and then will eat, but this trick doesn’t always work. We thought he was bored of his food so we changed him from Pedigree to Vets choice but still add Pedigree pouch food to supplement, this hasn’t seemed to change his appetite. It feels like I have to for lack of a better phrase ‘lick his arse’ to get him to eat. I feel a puppy at his age with his energy should eat more/ be hungrier. Once again he is not sick and does eat but this seems to be a pattern with him. Any advice?
