Cholesterol medikasie en arthritis

Is dit waar dat anti-cholesterol medikasie soos statins kan arthritis of styfheid van die ledemate veroorsaak? Ek gebruik al vir amper 10 jaar 20 mg Simvastatin. Ek is tans 52 jaar oud. Beteken dit dat ek op 'n vroeë ouderdom styfheid van ledemate of selfs arthritis gaan hê? Indien wel, is daar dalk alternatiewe medikasie beskikbaar wat nie hierdie nagevolge het nie?

Ja, dit kan, maar dan sou jy al heel moontlik dit ervaar het, veral as jy dit al vir 10 jaar gebruik het. Daar is n ander klas van statiene wat veronderstel is om minder newe-effekte te veroorsaak, die oorspronklike naam is Crestor. Jy kan met jou dokter gesels en hoor of dit n opsie is.
