Bells Palsy

My husband age 51 has been diagnosed with Bells Palsy 5 weeks ago - he has little improvement in his eye and cheek and his speech remains affected - he has been advised to have a deep tissue massage of the facial,area will this be of any benefit? He has also been advised to take vitamin B12 He initially had antiviral and cortisone for a week and has been doing facial exercises

Hi Isabel
This might help, yes, but Bells Palsy is known to take months to improve. The deep tissue massage will hopefully stimulate the nerves and muscle fibers to stay active. You can also ask the opinion of a physiotherapist or occupational therapist. Vit B12 will also aid the healing of the facial nerve. Good luck.
