2cm b4 birth

hi, plz help. my sista is at the hospital n she''s about to have a baby howerver they told her she''s got 2cm before birth. how long does she have to wait b4 she delivers?

The early part takes absoloute ages to dilate, so two or three hours per centimetre can be normal (though text books say 1cm per hour), though when things are going very slowly they will usually break the waters or give a drip to speed things up.

However, once she gets to about 8cm those last two cm can take less than 5minutes or up to about an hour, however it is usually very fast to get from 8 to 10 cm.

usually take an hour every 1.2 cm - she probably has abt 8 hours or so
