10 year old -|- er spaniel

I have a 10 year old -|- er spaniel. She is lively, hears well and is in good health. The only problem is her eyes. She has difficulty with her eyes. It seems like there are things growing over her eyes. Could you please advise what this is, if it needs surgery or what i can do to help her. it does not look like its affecting her ability to see at the moment, but it might in future. thanks

Hi Zanie

Sorry to hear of your spaniels predicament.
Spaniels can suffer from many ocular conditions such as Keratoconjunctivitis sicca, Chronic superficial keratitis, Refractory corneal ulceration e.t.c. Some of these conditions can be treated medically and others may require surgery. It is important that you visit your local vet to get the condition confirmed and treated. The longer you leave the problem the more difficult it may be to treat the condition in addition to the possible irreversible damage to the eyes.

Kind regards
