Fynbos and South Africa go back a long way. A very long way. This exceptionally diverse plant-form exists solely in a small part of the Western Cape and nowhere else in the whole wide world.
Fortunately, this hidden gem isn’t without its uses. Rooibos, as we all know, is one of SA’s finest exports and is literally dripping with antioxidants.
But that’s no longer where it stops. New research has shown that certain strains of Fynbos are very effective in preventing breast cancer.
In particular, Cyclopia, which is used to make honeybush tea, appears to prevent the growth of potentially cancerous cells in the breast.
Honeybush tea is relatively easy to find and sipping on a cup or two every day could be just what you need to ward off one of the biggest health threats facing the modern woman.
