In his most customary phlegmatic manner, Proteas white-ball coach Rob Walter believes there's no real reason to dwell on the question of whether form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) will count for much in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
South Africa's collective campaign in the glitzy annual franchise tournament has been solid, rather than spectacular, with the duo of Tristan Stubbs (Delhi Capitals) and Heinrich Klaasen (Sunrisers Hyderabad) being the only local exponents to have shot out the lights, so to speak.
Stubbs, 22, has been particularly outstanding in what represents a breakout season for him in India, having scored 378 runs, at a galloping strike rate of 190.90, numbers that are even superior to Klaasen - considered one of the most devastating hitters in T20 cricket worldwide - who has made 339, at 186.26.
