What a journey it's been! From battling cheating scandals to dispelling fake marriage gossip, David (49) and Victoria (50) Beckham are gearing up to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary in July.
The ex-football star admits to getting teary-eyed about their marriage while watching Beckham, their Netflix documentary.
“After watching the documentary . . . we looked at each other and was like, ‘I don't know how we got through the last 27 years,’ but we did and we have an amazing family, amazing business and we're happy,” David says.
Their love story began in 1997, leading to their marriage in 1999.
Becks admits that they’ve had their ups and downs over the years but he’s grateful for their enduring bond.
“At the end of the day we were lucky because we had each other at those moments.”
Victoria has in the past revealed her fears of growing apart. Yet with every anniversary their bond only grew stronger, defying her fears and solidifying their status as one of Britain's celeb power couples.
Their marriage faced its toughest test in 2003 when rumours surfaced that David and his personal assistant, Rebecca Loos, were having an affair. David vehemently denied these claims, rubbishing them as "ludicrous stories".
“The simple truth is that I am very happily married, and there’s nothing any third party can do to change these facts,” he said in a statement.
Further allegations surfaced when Danielle Heath and Sarah Marbeck claimed that they also had an affair with the athlete, but the couple stood united.
"We have been through a lot worse than this, and we're definitely going to get through this,” Victoria said.
To defend their marriage, they initiated legal action against these women and filed a lawsuit against their nanny, Abby Gibson, who alleged that their marriage was not genuine but instead a business arrangement.
"Do we stay together because it is a brand? Of course not,” David told British Vogue. “We stay together because we love each other and because we have four amazing children.”

They've certainly weathered every storm.
“People have been making things up about our relationship for 20 years," Victoria previously told British Vogue.
“So David and I are pretty used to ignoring the nonsense and just carrying on as normal.”
