Now that the schoolboy rugby calendar is in full swing, with most schools having pulled up their socks properly, surprises are getting thinner by the dozen, as was the case in Mangaung, where Grey College did what Grey College does: win at home.

Schools with general strength and more depth are starting to flex their muscles. Also, lists of Craven Week and Academy Week teams are slowly starting to make their way into public domains.

However, as the halfway point of May approaches, youth weeks are far from mind for a lot of schools as settling derby schools is the order of business.
