Set the mood

The Kama Sutra outlines the importance of a good atmosphere before lovemaking. After all, you both need to be in the mood, or it’s not going to happen.

Start with a good meal. Not only will a good meal allow the two partners to have some quiet time together, it will help charge the batteries for the night that is to follow.

Set up an ambience in strategic locations around the house where you plan to take action. The Kama Sutra suggests candles, flowers, silk and satin, soft lighting effects, and incense for atmosphere.

Make a mission of the evening. Decide on what you are going to do, and what positions you are going to try the day before, so that you both have time to think about the pleasure that is to come. This will help elevate anticipation, and create the sexual energy that the Kama Sutra suggests is a vital part of lovemaking.
