A Durban police officer testifying in the murder, extortion and racketeering trial of Nafiz Modack said he heard Modack's "right hand" man refer to them as "Pablo and Gustavo" - the former leader and accountant of the Medellín Cartel in Columbia, South America.
Warrant Officer Kelvin Shunmugam, from the Durban K9 Unit, was testifying about his involvement in arresting asset manager "Mr C" in Cape Town, who was being pursued over a failed investment made by fellow Durbanite Shanil Maharaj.
He said he first got to know Modack when he met one of Modack's alleged associates through a person at his gym called "Immie".
