'Bring it on. We are not scared': Ramaphosa ready to take on MK Party

ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa says he is confident there won't be any violence following the Constitutional Court judgement which barred former president Jacob Zuma from contesting the elections. (Amanda Khoza/News24)

ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa has taken a swipe at predecessor Jacob Zuma's uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, daring him to "bring it on".

"They formed a party with a name starting with an M, what-what. They thought that we were going to be scared. We are not scared. Asinalo uvalo! [We are not afraid of anything]. Bring on the war, we are ready. We will win the upcoming elections," he said.

The president was speaking to scores of supporters at a mini rally at the Bokamosa sports ground in the North West on Tuesday, eight days before the elections.
