In a clear message to those daring to challenge the ANC, party president Cyril Ramaphosa says its election campaign is now "energised and turbocharged". 

An emboldened Ramaphosa made the statements a day after the ANC roped in one of its heavyweights, former president Thabo Mbeki, to bolster its campaign ahead of the 29 May polls. 

Mbeki will be joined by other leaders, including Kgalema Motlanthe, David Mabuza, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, and Baleka Mbete on the party's campaign trail.
