Eat healthy when dining out
Last updated: Monday, April 11, 2005
You can eat healthy when dining out if you know how, the American National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute says in its obesity guidelines.

The agency offers suggestions on how to make your next out-of-home dining experience both tasty and good for you:

Ask if the restaurant will serve margarine rather than butter with the meal; serve fat-free (skim) milk rather than whole milk or cream; trim visible fat from poultry or meat; leave all butter, gravy, or sauces off a dish; serve salad dressing on the side; use less cooking oil.

For your part, select foods that are steamed, garden fresh, broiled, baked, roasted, poached, lightly sauted, or stir-fried. - (HealthDayNews)
