Lovers be warned: your partner might be allergic to the food you eat.
A young American woman suffered an anaphylactic shock last week after she kissed her boyfriend who ate shrimp for dinner. This involved the swelling of the woman's throat, cramps and nausea. She did, however, recover after being treated in the emergency room.

The woman, who worked at a seafood restaurant, might have sensitised herself to shellfish by frequently coming into contact with it.
This demonstrates, once again, that food can trigger an allergic reaction even if the allergic person does not consume it him/herself. A reaction can be induced by merely touching the allergen or by kissing someone who recently ate the food.
Reactions are reported to be mostly within two hours of ingestion or handling of seafood, or even inhaling of cooking vapour. The more common symptoms include skin, stomach and respiratory problems. Respiratory problems are very common in sensitive subjects following inhalation of fish or crustacean vapours, such as from cooking. – (Health24)
