Feng Shui

Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of designing and creating a harmonious environment. Feng Shui (pronounced "Fung Schway") is based on the belief that energy patterns are generated and effected by everything we do, build or create.

Philosophy

Its philosophical roots span a whole range of Chinese thoughts from Taoism and Buddhism to rural magic. It operates on many levels: superstitious and practical, sacred and profane, emotional and physical. There are parallels to Western psychology and scientific thought. In practice, Feng Shui is something between a science and an art – a way of thinking (metaphysically); an intuitive ability to interpret and work with the environment, colour, plants, water, space, sound; to find our place in the universe and improve it.

It teaches us that our destinies and our lives are interwoven between the universal energy field and our human energy field.

A house resembles a body because it has its own metabolism. Energy must flow evenly throughout, pumping smoothly from hall to room. The occupants, a house's vital organs, are nourished by a healthy flow of energy, not too strong and not too weak.
