Reiki is also for animals. My own dog limped when he was still a puppy. The vet operated and later when he still limped I was told that he would have to have another op. I was irate and told the Vet that I would return in 2 weeks with the dog if Reiki did not work for him. For five minutes a day I gave Reiki to my dog – and he has not limped since – that was more than three years ago.
Why Reiki?
There are many different kinds of ‘hands-on’ healing, Reiki is the only healing method/ technique requiring an ‘attunement’ or ‘initiation’. The Reiki practitioner is an open channel for Divine Healing Energies to flow through them to the recipient.
For healing to take place remember that the recipient always as freedom of choice and they will decide whether or not they wish to be healed.
After a Reiki session you feel peaceful, calm and serene. Reiki helps your body find homeostasis and assists your body with its own natural healing abilities
Other advantages of Reiki as a healing technique are that it is non-invasive, it is transmitted with love and you get to keep your clothes ON!
How do I learn Reiki?
Reiki I
The learning process of Reiki begins with Reiki I. This is a self-healing programme. Once receiving the initial attunement or initiation, all the person has do is to place their hands down, either on a pain area or using the Reiki full-body hand-positions.
The Ki energy does the rest, without any direction, flowing through the healer’s hands. As the self-healer places their hands on the different positions the energy heals on a physical, mental and spiritual level creating perfect balance and wholeness directed at perfect health. Reiki I includes one symbol and self-healing hand positions as well as learning the History of Reiki
Reiki II
Then you can progress after at least 21 days to Reiki II, a practitioner's course. This course should include two more symbols and a further attunement or initiation as well as the hand positions of healing others. The learner should understand Reiki, its origins, its uses and its values
Reiki Master
From there, you can become a Master, which really means a Teacher. A Reiki Master must know everything about Reiki and must be able to teach and initiate another.
Different Masters teach in different ways. However, our country requires some standardisation and legislation is on its way. The Reiki Masters Association was formed to guide the Masters and to ensure that the learner and the public receive Reiki in a professional and informative way.
