For baby: A range of organic baby skin care products which, being organic and free of synthetic chemicals, are healthier for the baby’s sensitive skin. The ranges include wet wipes, shampoo and body wash.

For women: Natural feminine hygiene products by Natracare include organic cotton tampons, as well as pads and panty liners made from natural materials. Products such as these are aimed at cutting down contact with synthetics and chemicals, some of which lead to skin allergies, cystitis and, in extreme cases, Toxic Shock Syndrome. The products are also biodegradable and chlorine free.

For the garden: There are a number of different stalls all offering organic alternatives to commonly used chemicals in the garden. Everything from insect control, plant de-stressors and fertilizer can now keep the garden green in every sense of the word.

Pet products: For those who are concerned about the effects of traditional medicine on their pets, the chemicals in pet food and even vitamin supplements, there are a number of organic and natural options available. There are products to shine Fido’s coat, rid him of ticks, help his digestive system and even ease the aging process.

The mind: A variety of natural supplements and stress relievers are available and will no doubt be popular in helping everyone from corporates to stay at home mums manage stress naturally.

Scenar Therapy is one such exhibitor and aims at restoring general health, energy and wellbeing in a drug-free and non-invasive way. Other products include organic supplements to help you sleep, de-stress, give you mental stamina and even sexual vitality.

The body: For those suffering from ailments such as allergies, arthritis or high cholesterol who want to try the natural route, there are a number of different options available at the fair. Natural supplements, body and face creams, herbal teas and de-tox patches are some of the products on show.

Body and mind: Eastern philosophies are becoming much more popular with increasing interest in exercises which complement the mind and body such as yoga and the Nia Technique.

A number of exhibitors have dedicated their stands to promoting these alternate exercise programs, together with weight management stalls which boast natural products to get healthy the environmentally friendly way.

The home: Believe it or not, organic paints, textiles and wood can all lead to a more natural way of life too. From locally produced yarn for a naturally upholstered couch, to environmentally friendly treated wooden products, it’s now possible to live in an organic-inspired home.

The Natural and Organic Products Exhibition is on at the convention centre until Sunday, October 14. Details: Visit www.naturalandorganic.co.za for more information.
