What exactly is life alignment and where does it fit into the bigger energy-healing picture? Health24 investigated.

Energy healing explained
According to Canadian energy healer Dr Jeff Levin, humans are multi-dimensional beings. This means that, besides the physical body, we have other subtle energy bodies, such as the emotional and spiritual bodies (e.g. the soul), which all combine to form a person's aura.

Energy systems such as the acupuncture meridian system and the chakras are well recognised. The former has been studied in China and Japan, and the latter in India, for thousands of years.

According to Levin, the energy systems are considered to lie at the core of everything that happens to the physical body. It is here that so-called energy healing, or energy medicine, comes into play.

"We are rediscovering energy medicine and it is once again becoming very popular due to its effectiveness," he says.

Energy forms the basis of many alternative healing techniques. Some of the best-known ones are homeopathy, acupuncture, Reiki and spiritual healing.

Life alignment – a new technique
Over the past few years, Levin has developed a new energy healing technique called "life alignment".

In essence, life alignment employs a combination of energy healing systems to address anything from health and well-being to relationships and career issues. It works at the energy spectrum, but works very specifically by identifying the cause and location of an energy blockage and releasing it.

"In the life alignment systems, we look for the root cause of conditions. These are generally found within the energy systems of the body," he says. "When we correct the cause, the physical body responds rapidly and effectively. It also works as preventative medicine in that it identifies and corrects the imbalance before it has manifested in the physical body."

The proposed benefits of life alignment include:

• alignment of the body's structure, relieving pain;
• identifying the root cause of issues and relieving symptoms such as learning difficulties, allergies, sleep disturbances and hormonal imbalances;
• strengthening the immune system and detoxifying the body;
• releasing suppressed emotions, past traumas and stress;
• relieving pain rapidly by healing the related issue.

According to Levin, the results can usually be felt in a single session. However, in severe cases, several sessions may be needed.

All the life alignment systems can be applied to oneself. In fact, many students learn the systems for their own self-healing, Levin says. – (Carine van Rooyen, February 2007)
