According to Psychological Reports, University of Missouri researchers got 52 women and 38 men to discuss how they felt about physical symptoms and the idea of discussing some bodily function that wasn't working quite right.
Neither men nor women were completely comfortable discussing most physical problems. But the greatest differences in attitudes emerged when the topic shifted to the reproductive system.
Women seemed used to discussing problems with menstruation, cramps and PMS. But the male participants, with a simpler reproductive system, often didn't want to discuss their symptoms. - (HealthDayNews)
