Obsession and depression haunt us all. Now, a researcher from the University of Cape Town is determined to find out more about how these conditions really arise and how they are founded in emotion at a physiological level, instead of describing them merely as thought processes.

As part of her Neuropsychology PhD study, Michelle Jackson is looking for people to complete questionnaires related to emotions that coincide with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and depression.

She requests participation in one of two groups: the clinical group, which are for people who have been diagnosed either with OCD or depression, and the control group, which are for people who have not been diagnosed, but who are interested in being part of the comparison.

Participants will need to fill in a few questionnaires, which the research will forward via e-mail. No personal contact beyond email is necessary, and all your information will be protected and held strictly confidential.*

Once results have been analysed, the researcher will provide you with individualised feedback if you are interested.
